How hiring a sleep coach can change your life

Updated: Apr 15, 2022

When we hear the word “Sleep Training”, we instantly think of “crying it out”, at least that’s what I thought it was before I ended up researching sleep guiding options for my own daughter. I ended up finding a very good sleep program online, and instantly became fascinated in the process. It worked, and it didn’t involve a ton of crying!... Imagine that! It really changed my life, and my perspective on sleep training. I have since become a certified Pediatric sleep consultant, and am so excited to share everything I know with you!

When choosing the right person to guide you with your child’s sleep you want to look for someone who is very passionate and kind. Someone who shows empathy, trust, and empowerment while being able to coach and advise techniques, to help you reach your sleep goals. One thing I really express to my clients is this is a judgment free environment. It is so important to be slow to speak and quick to listen. When a parent is seeking sleep advice, we know that they are emotionally, and physically drained, and are in need of genuine support from someone they can trust.

The role of a sleep coach is to maintain healthy positive relationships for years to come, while providing strategies and care plans to help clients reach their goals. Children may struggle with sleep from ages 0-4 years of age, and there are many factors that can contribute to sleep disruptions. This information is critical when creating healthy routines and foundations for your child. The right amount of sleep is extremely important for healthy child development, and for parents to provide the best care possible, without feeling exausted.

I really like to switch out the word “training” and replace it with coaching and guiding. I am here to provide you with all of the information you need to successfully guide your child to restful 12 hour nights. This can be done in many different ways. Every child is unique, and every parent has different goals for their child, which is why it is so important to have a plan that is customized to your family's needs individually. There are a variety of methods we can use to coach your child through daytime and nighttime sleep. Based on the personality of your child, and the parent philosophy, we can implement gentle methods with less crying, or we can lean towards timed crying options. I cannot promise a tear-free experience, but I am able to implement compassionate techniques to help reach your goals while remaining within your comfort level as a parent.

The guidance I received for my newborn changed my life. The routine was what I needed to provide the best care for my child, while continuing to do the things I love outside of my home with a well-rested, and happy baby. If a restful 12 hours of sleep is what you need, please don’t hesitate to reach out for more information on my programs. Together, we can develop a plan that is right for you and your family.
